Privacy Policy

PurposeFP, LLC, dba Purpose Financial Planning (“PFP,” “we,” “us”), is a Georgia-registered investment adviser. Our relationships with clients, prospective clients, and everyone who interacts with us are built on integrity and trust, and we treat the information you share with us accordingly. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with others for their own marketing.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our advisory relationships and to every website, landing page, form, assessment, newsletter, and online tool we operate, wherever it appears. Because we interact with people in different ways, it is organized by how you interact with us — as a client or prospective client, as a subscriber or someone who completes one of our forms or assessments, or as a visitor to one of our websites — followed by the sections that apply to everyone.

Summary

  • We do not sell your personal information or share it for others’ marketing.
  • We share information only with service providers who help us run our firm and serve you, with parties you authorize, and as the law requires or permits.
  • You can unsubscribe from our emails, stop text reminders, and opt out of website analytics at any time.
  • Client information is protected under federal financial privacy law and by the safeguards described below.
  • Questions and requests go to Christopher Musick, our Chief Compliance Officer — contact details are at the end.

If you are a client or prospective client

Why we collect your information

We gather information about you so that we can understand your situation, design and deliver the financial planning and investment advisory services you engage us for, communicate with you, and comply with the federal and state laws and regulations that govern us, including recordkeeping requirements.

What we collect

  • Information you give us in our meetings, in planning questionnaires, through our secure client portal, and in the course of our work together, such as your name, contact information, date of birth, Social Security number, employment, family and household details, and financial information (income, assets, liabilities, accounts, insurance, tax and estate information, goals and values).
  • Information we generate in serving you, such as plans, analyses, recommendations, meeting notes, and account and transaction records.
  • Information we receive from third parties in connection with our services, such as your custodian, other professionals you authorize us to work with, and the planning and tax software we use on your behalf.

Meetings, recordings, and communications

We may use AI-assisted note-taking services to record, transcribe, and summarize meetings and phone calls with clients and prospective clients so that we can focus on the conversation and keep accurate records. Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are handled as confidential client information under this policy. If you prefer not to be recorded, let us know at the start of a meeting or call and we will take notes another way. Emails, text messages, and other communications you exchange with us may be archived and retained under securities recordkeeping rules.

Keeping sensitive information out of ordinary email

Please do not send Social Security numbers, account numbers, or account statements by ordinary email or text. Use the secure client portal we provide, or ask us for a secure way to share a document.

If you subscribe, complete a form, or take an assessment

When you sign up for our newsletter, complete an interest or contact form, take one of our online assessments, download a resource, or schedule a meeting with us, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, state, occupation, marital status, income and net worth ranges, what prompted you to reach out, how you heard about us, your answers to assessment questions, and your meeting-scheduling details.

We use this information to respond to you, deliver the content or results you asked for, send you our newsletter and other educational content, schedule and confirm meetings, follow up about our services, and understand who our content is reaching. We may add your information to our customer relationship management system so that our communications with you are consistent. Financial information you share with us while considering our services is treated as protected client information under this policy.

Assessment results and educational content are general in nature and are not personalized investment, tax, or legal advice. Our emails may include open and click tracking so we can see which content is useful. Meeting reminders are sent by email and, if you provide a mobile number when scheduling, by text message; reply STOP to any text to opt out.

If you visit our websites

Like most websites, ours automatically receive certain technical information from your browser and device: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view and how long you stay, the site that referred you, and approximate geographic location. We use this information to keep our sites working, understand how they are used, and improve them. We do not use it to identify you personally.

  • Cookies and analytics. Our main website uses Google Analytics, which places cookies on your browser to help us understand traffic and site usage. Some of our online tools use privacy-focused analytics that do not use cookies and report only aggregate statistics. We do not currently use advertising pixels or retargeting on our sites.
  • Your controls. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on all websites. Blocking cookies may affect how some features work.
  • Do Not Track. Our sites do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
  • Third-party sites. Our sites and emails link to third-party services (for example, our scheduling tool, our email platform, and your custodian’s portal). Those services have their own privacy policies, which govern the information you provide to them.

How we share information

We share personal information only as described here. We may disclose it:

  • to parties who assist in providing your services, such as your account custodian, sub-advisers, and other professionals you authorize us to work with;
  • to service providers we engage to run our firm — including customer relationship management, email delivery, scheduling, meeting and note-taking, form and assessment hosting, website hosting and analytics, workflow automation, cloud storage, and compliance archiving providers — who may use the information only to perform services for us and are bound by confidentiality obligations;
  • to your authorized representative, attorney-in-fact, or another person you direct us to share with;
  • when you give us your consent;
  • in connection with a proposed or actual sale, merger, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to this policy;
  • as required by law, regulation, subpoena, or a regulator’s request, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others; and
  • as otherwise permitted by applicable federal and state privacy laws.

If we ever change our practices in a way that would allow us to disclose nonpublic personal information beyond what applicable law permits without your consent, we will give you notice and the opportunity to opt out before doing so.

How we protect information

We maintain a written information security program and physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. We limit access to those who need it to do their jobs, and companies and independent contractors that work with us are subject to confidentiality agreements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; if a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

How long we keep information

We keep client records, including records of former clients, for the retention periods required by securities and other applicable laws, and we continue to protect that information after our relationship ends. We keep subscriber and lead information until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it, except that we may retain copies of communications and marketing materials, and the records of who received them, where recordkeeping rules require it.

Your choices

  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or marketing email, or email us and ask to be removed.
  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message from us or our scheduling tool, or tell us you prefer not to receive texts.
  • Cookies and analytics. Use your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Sharing. As described above, we will offer you an opt-out before any change that would allow sharing beyond what the law permits.

Children

Our services and websites are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always posted on our website. Clients receive notice of material changes and periodic notices as required by law.
